EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND-BCOM(HONOURS)
The glorious theatrical journey of Jayesh Laha (law) began in 1989,from his childhood he was a very big theatre enthusiast .His family was also attached with theatre in several ways .His theatrical journey started from professional board theatre where he worked with eminent director Ranjit Ganguly(famous for the play – Bar Badhu).
He has shared stage with many eminent actors of our country like- Ketaki Dutta,Bula Dutta,Lotika Chattopadhay,Prabir Kumar,Tarun Roy,Prema Narayan and many more. He learned a lot from these eminent personalities and they have helped him grow as a theatre actor.
After that he started his new journey with a theatre group under director Rana Banerjee,thereafter he has always entertained the audience and lived upto the expectation of his director with his marvelous acting skills through out West Bengal and all over the country.He had worked with many theatre groups as freelance actor.
Then to gain more knowledge about theatre he decided to join the workshop under the famous theatrical personality Shri Ramaprasad Banik.In a very small time he came to the good eyes of his teacher and was admired for his talent.
During his 30 years of long theatrical journey he had worked with many eminent theatrical personalities like – Manisha Adak,Rana Banerjee,Gyanesh Mukhopadhay,Tamal Roychowdhuri,Rakesh Ghosh,Simika Roy and Chapal Bhaduri .
He made some of his memorable performances in – Kak Charitra, Juto, Upal Bhaduri, Harano Sur, Sandhya Tara, Andhare Ora,Aranya Gabhir,Mayamridango,Nisikando,Tiner talowar,Austomukhi chand,Rotswita ,Nosto tarar golpo etc.He has badged a lot of prizes with his outstanding performance in these theatres.He even worked in many street plays under Mr. BADAL KANJILAL.
Meanwhile he decided to try his career on direction and so he started his own theatre group “NETAJI NAGAR SARASWATI NATYASALA”(named by Shri Ramaprasad Banik).Once in an interview Jayesh told that he will never forget the support and guidance of his teacher SHRI RAMAPRASAD BANIK,without his support he couldn’t achieve this level of success.After that he started his solo direction through his group – SARASWATI NATYASALA and presents us with various jaw droping productions one after the other- MAHAPRITHIBI,ANDHARER DHOOP CHAYA,PROTIBIMBO,VIVEKNAMA.
Beside theatre he has also worked in Television and cinema in major roles.In television and cinema he has shared screen with many eminent personalities like Debshankar Haldar,Indrani Haldar,Srabanty Chatterjee and many others.His recently released film – DRYISHANTER directed by RANA BANERJEE has reached great heights.
One of his biggest achievements is – Best actor award from DOORDARSHAN (DD BANGLA)
