the organisationNetajinagar Saraswati natyasala has started their journey from the year 2009 through the hands of two people named Jayesh law (laha) & Bappa Majumder who has become friends due to their common interest in theatrical activities ,from their interest and love towards theatre they decided to open their own Theatre group but they were unable to finalize the name of their group, so they went to the house of famous theatrical personality “Shri Ramaprasad Banik” who was actually the teacher of Jayesh law(laha) and asked him to name their theatre group.
Jayesh law(laha) was a very lovable student of Shri ramaprasad banik so he could not denied the words of jayesh and named their group as “SARASWATI NATYASALA”, in this way Jayesh and Bappa started their new theatrical journey through their group saraswati natyasala, after that they started doing many small length productions and side by side they were framing the protocols of saraswati natyasala for becoming a popular name in the world of Bengali theatre.
After many ups and downs, in the year 2014 saraswati natyasala flourished with bright colours in the theatre world with their famous production “MAHAPRITHIBI” and after that Saraswati natyasala marched one step forward towards success with their beautiful production “ANDHARER DHOOPCHAYA” in the year 2016.
Then came the year 2017 when saraswati natyasala has received many awards and love from different theatrical personalities and critics for their super hit production “PROTIBIMBO”and back to back presents one more super hit production in 2018 “VIVEKNAMA”.
Netajinagar Saraswati Natyasala also organize various theatrical workshops , seminars and Theatre festivals throughtout the complete year.Their theatre festival is popularly known as “SARASWATI NATYAUTSAB”.
“SARASWATI NATYAUTSAB”happens in two phase. In Phase 1 Netajinagar Saraswati natyasala welcomes various groups from Kolkata and all over the west Bengal to perform in their festival once in every month.Phase 2 is the grand festival which usually runs from 4 to 5days in various reputed theatres of Kolkata and other districts of west Bengal in which many theatre groups of all over the country comes under one roof to showcase their marvelous productions. It generally occurs during the months from November and december. During this festival they also presents SARASWATI NATYASAMMAN to various eminent personalities from fields of Art&Culture.
In this way Saraswati natyasala is continuously enlighting the moral of people through their performance because Saraswati natyasala believes that “THEATRE IS NOT FOR ENTERTAINMENT RATHER IT’S THE PATH FOR ENLIGHTING THE MORAL OF SOCIETY.”
